“Stephen Harvey’s presentation to our students was informative and engaging! His success in creating a life as a professional composer, performer, entrepreneur, and educator is inspiring for all students and sparks a curiosity for exploring various career options within diverse degree programs. He is a model young professional and we look forward to welcoming him home, again and again!”
“Stephen is an extraordinary educator and composer (and a long time friend!). His love of music and performing is infectious and he shared this with our students. He took time out of his touring schedule to meet with our students to listen to the commission song he wrote for us that year. The students went on and on about “Mr. Harvey” and how they wanted him to come back. He truly left an impact on these students. ”
“Stephen helped my saxophone students at West Virginia University to think about music in a new way. Not only did he give direct instruction to a couple of young jazz soloists, but he worked on a small and fun composition project with the entire class. It was clear just how much his teaching opened everyone’s minds and hearts. His visit was the most fun we’ve had with a guest artist! ”
“Stephen’s classroom and rehearsal sessions are engaging, accessible, and fun! His ever-present sense of humor captivates students and opens the door to deep learning. Students who interact with Stephen are “hyped” to learn more, improve, and come back to the next session. His gift to involve students in this way is indeed unique - especially in the academic atmosphere of today.”
